The brand influencer who made such disclosure through a video uploaded on her official Instagram page, spoke about the gubernatorial and state assembly elections that were held in Lagos State on Saturday, as she stated that people were injured, intimidated and disenfranchised because they wanted to vote for their preferred candidates.

Speaking further, Iyabo Ojo noted that she will not be relating with some set of people that she calls her friends after the elections, adding that she is so ashamed of some people that she calls her brother or sister from Yoruba land.

The mother of two went ahead to state that;

“Today, I’m grateful to God that I was raised by my own grandmother who is not Yoruba because I don’t know how I will see myself if I have this tribalistic mindset. My father’s father is from Abeokuta, my mother’s mum is half Delta Igbo, I was raised by her. On my mother’s side, my mum’s dad is from Ijebu Ode. But does it make me a less Yoruba girl? If I’m to pick a State I’m from, I will definitely pick my father’s father state which is Abeokuta. It doesn’t make me a less Yoruba girl and it doesn’t make me a less Nigerian”.
