“Being married to someone from another tribe is stressful”- Solomon Buchi

Solomon Buchi, a Nigerian activist, recently shared his experiences and challenges of marrying someone from a different tribe.

He admitted openly to the difficulties he faces, particularly in public communication.

Buchi, an Igbo man married to a Yoruba woman, lamented his inability to converse with Arike in Igbo in public, frequently resorting to English instead.

Buchi jokingly wished he could speak Igbo to his wife on a train and have her understand and respond in kind.

This highlights the complexities and nuances of intercultural marriages, particularly in a linguistically diverse country like Nigeria.
